The new 2023 Brompton C Line Explore Low folding bike is the classic All-Steel Folding Brompton people have known and loved for years, but now has all-black componentry, along with black fork and rear triangle in the spirit of the wildly popular "Black Edition" Bromptons. It’s the most customizable bike in Brompton’s lineup and the chromoly steel frame can be finished in an assortment of colours from classics to vibrant pop tones - including the all-new Matcha Green or Yellow. For a premium look, choose the Black Lacquer or Flame Lacquer finish which is made using only the best frames where the hand brazing is visible.       

As the most versatile option, the Brompton Explore model is geared to go further. It uses the 3-speed Sturmey Archer BWR hub combined with a 2-speed shifter for a combined 6 speeds. The wider gear ratio is designed to get you up the steepest hills and speeding along the flat open roads. Schwalbe Marathon tires provide puncture-proof reliability (not to be confused with the cheaper Marathon Racer tire) and a Front Carrier Block lets you customize your bike with a wide range of Brompton bags. This model is our most popular due to its adaptability and is a favourite of world travellers. 

This bike uses the Low Handlebar which is Brompton’s lowest and sportiest handlebar. This gives a zippy, fast position for riders of average height and a mid-height position for shorter riders. Perfect for fast commutes. Fenders keep you and your bike looking presentable and make entry to shops, museums, and theatres a lot easier as a result. The bike is fitted with a Standard seatpost but can be swapped to Extended or Telescopic seatposts depending on your height. It comes standard with the Brompton Standard saddle which suits this handlebar the best but can be swapped out to the Brompton Wide saddle at no extra charge.

An optional aluminum rear rack makes the bike considerably more stable when folded and much easier to roll when using it in “rolling transport mode”. It also allows you to carry extra luggage on the back while touring, or if you need to haul something too large to fit in a front bag.
